Common Sense Cooking

Synposis: This machinima film was produced live before an audience of 250 people at the Florida Film Festival in Orlando, Fl, March 16, 2003 at the Enzian Theater. The Festival staff commissioned us to produce a show in its entirety, recreating a live for-broadcast, multi-camera television show reminiscent of the live broadcasts of the '50s (e.g. "The Honeymooners", "Your Show of Shows"). The main difference here was the stage was virtual, projected on the screen of the theater and produced using machinima animation (Beef Quake modification of Quake II engine).

In addition to it being live, it also had to be entertaining. All of the on-screen action and dialogue for each of the shows three characters were controlled and created live by one puppeteer/voice actor per character (Lenny Lumberjack - Matt Dominianni, Larry Lumberjack - John Olynik, Cook Carl - Paul Jannicola). Though there was a basic structure to the show, there was no script, all dialogue was improvised.
