Paylocity helps run the payroll at your company, but it expands beyond that functionality to serve as a singular management tool for practically every aspect of your company's HR department. Their software is designed to work just as capably for enterprise-level operations as it does for small businesses, and it's effective at letting you zoom in from big picture operations all the way down to information on a specific worker with no effort. Just be aware that the prices may be a bit prohibitive for some smaller companies.

Payroll makes up a major chunk of Paylocity's interface. It can be a little intimidating at first, but the amount of information available here is frankly staggering. Most everything can be handled from a dashboard which can be customized to suit your needs. But most versions of the dashboard are going to include the ability to make payments, change benefits and time off, and send push notifications to employees. Employees have access to a portal as well, and it's a convenient choice that helps automate a lot of tasks human resources would be manually handling otherwise. That can include manually clocking in or out, printing out pay stubs, and make requests for time off. It also allows staff to directly reach out to members of management.

Paylocity is also positioned to help companies through the entire hiring process. Specific dashboards can be established and customized for tracking the hiring pipeline, and there are also tools for building a workflow for your hiring process. Of course that includes the essentials you need to keep the hiring process financially sound.

Tools are there to help once the candidates have been reduced to a smaller pool too. Phone screens and interviews can be scheduled directly through the interface, and it's designed to work neatly in conjunction with your existing calendar software. And it's easy to get as much insight as possible in these crucial final phases thanks to a candidate evaluation system that can be opened up to whatever employees you want.

Looking at everything Paylocity offers, it could suitably be seen as a replacement for a more committed human resources office. And while the pricing is relatively steep, that level of utility does make it ideally equipped for scaling down your HR department. Fortunately, Paylocity's pricing is specific to each business, so you should be able to find something that scales to your specific needs. In either case, Paylocity has experience working with partners in most of the major global industries, so there are templates in place that can be further specialized for you. You'll also find help for the pre-screening process thanks to a system that will automatically filter candidate applications depending on the criteria that matter to you.
