100 PictureLogic pic-cross puzzles.

LipetzPix Files 1-6

LipetzPix files contain pic-cross puzzles in the PictureLogic format. These puzzles were originally written for my pic-cross program, Pixit. I have converted them to PictureLogic format and in some cases modified the puzzles to better take advantage of the slightly different rules of play between the two programs.

There are ONE HUNDRED puzzles in the collections. They are categorized as Easy, Medium, and Hard based on feedback from the Keith's PLSolver program and my own opinion. The files are:

LipetzPix1-Easy.PDB - 20 Easy puzzles intended to help beginners

LipetzPix2-NonUniq.PDB - 5 Easy and medium puzzles with multiple

solutions (but only a single correct

one. PictureLogic will tell you if

you found an incorrect one.)

LipetzPix3.PDB - 15 Easy and Medium puzzles

LipetzPix4.PDB - 20 Medium and Hard puzzles

LipetzPix5.PDB - 20 Medium and Hard puzzles

LipetzPix6.PDB - 20 Medium and Hard puzzles

All puzzles are 16x16 or smaller (the limit in Pixit).

I have renamed all the puzzles in collections 2-6 to be less literal. That is, I tried to pick names that would not give away the picture content but that would make sense when the puzzle was solved. This is in keeping with my prefered playing style (and Pixit's rules) of not knowing the picture name until I solve it logically. I have left simple names on collection 1 to help beginners.

All puzzles were written by Timothy Lipetz except puzzle #100 (Ripple) which was written by my son, Adam. That puzzle is particularly interesting in that is not too hard for a person to solve (by making an obvious assumption), but is one of the few puzzles with a unique solution that really taxes the PLSolver program.

These collections may be freely distributed provided they are unmodified and this ReadMe file is included with them.
