High Heat Baseballâ„¢ 2000 Updates

Welcome to the High Heat Baseball 2000 update page. This page has been provided to keep High Heat Baseball 2000 customers informed of the latest updates and enhancements.

9/1/99: Below you will find a link and instructions on how to download and install the High Heat Baseball 2000 update v 1.2.

**Note: The 1.2 patch is not compatible with saved seasons from the 1.0 or 1.1 versions of the game. In order to benefit from the fixes in the patch, you will need to start a new season after installing the patch. The 1.2 patch includes all of the updates that were in the 1.1 patch.

This update addresses the following issues:

(For a complete list of changes, see the readme.txt)

During Season Mode Play:

If either Team, Human or CPU, was up to bat, sometimes the game would crash to the desktop. Upon researching save files, it was discovered that there was an error in the announcer's script. This problem has been fixed and will allow you to continue previously saved games.

Player Editor:

Making changes in the Player Editor caused random problems in other areas of the game. Using edited players in your lineup should now work properly, and their stats should be displayed correctly in the box scores. Also, some player stats can no longer be changed with the Player Editor. These statistics had no effect on gameplay or the quick-sim. Edited players will no longer have their career pitching stats doubled.

Controller Support Added:

1. When the Microsoft (R) Sidewinder Pro is used to bring up the Pitching Key after a pitching substitution has been made, it should now work properly.

2. Gravis (R) Grip now functions properly with the game.

3. Support added for the Gravis Gamepad Pro USB controller.

4. Microsoft Precision Pro(R) Joystick and Logitech WingMan(R) Gamepad are now supported.

Pitcher Fatigue in the Playoffs:

Players properly recover from fatigue during the playoffs. When the playoffs begin, all pitchers will regain any lost fatigue and each team's pitching rotation will be reset to the first pitcher.

NOTE: A pitcher only rests if he does not participate in a game.

Previous Updates from ver 1.1 patch:

Windows 98 SE (Second Edition) compatibility:

Installing this patch will allow the game to run under Windows 98 SE.

Improved Gameplay:

Several improvements have been made to game AI and game physics.

Computer Making Changes To The Roster:

Once a set roster was established by the user, if an injury, substitution or line-up change occurred, leaving an empty space or weaker player, the computer would automatically make the necessary changes without notifying the user. Now, in Season play, an "Interrupt" feature has been added which will warn the user if the computer needs to make changes to the roster.

Various MultiPlayer Adjustments:

1. Manage-Only Mode: "Bunt Defense" now functions properly.

2. Users' will now be able to click on the Chat Box.

3. Multiple players will now have the ability to simultaneously change their line-ups.

4. Using the F11 Hot Key to bring up the adjusted strikezone HUD should now function properly.

Resolved Yamaha Sound Card Conflict:

Systems with Yamaha DS-XG sound cards had a compatibility problem with the game. This has been fixed
