Dragon Age: Origins - No Starting Abilities Mod

Normally, during character creation, the game assigns certain abilities based on your class and background, and then lets you choose a few others on your own. This mod will make it so that you no longer get those automatic abilities. In return you receive more points to spend on what you want. In the end the balance is the same.

Install

Extract the files to \Documents\BioWare\Dragon Age\packages\core\override

Normally, during character creation, the game assigns certain abilities based on your class and background, and then lets you choose a few others on your own. This mod will make it so that you no longer get those automatic abilities. In return you receive more points to spend on what you want. In the end the balance is the same.

Install

=======

1. Extract the files to \Documents\BioWare\Dragon Age\packages\core\override

Uninstall

=========

1. Navigate to \Documents\BioWare\Dragon Age\packages\core\override

2. Delete "player_core.ncs"

3. Delete rules\background_defaults_nostab.GDA

Incompatibility

===============

This mod directly overrides a core game script, and as such this could have unforeseen consequences. In addition, future game patches may break this mod. Should you experience any oddities with the game after installing this mod, simply uninstalling it should put everything back to normal.
