It's great that the latest browsers let you embed Microsoft Video for Windows files directly into HTML documents, but .AVI files are huge. Fortunately, AVI2000GIF breaks an .AVI file into its constituent frames and transforms it into an animated .GIF, cutting the file's size and making movies stream automatically--unlike an .AVI file, which must load fully before it begins to play. It also means you can tweak individual frames, which with .AVI files requires expensive video-editing software. For instance, you can delete superfluous frames, change quality and size of the frame, to change a target .GIF according to your requirements. More browsers support animated .GIFs than .AVIs.
