NOTE: This is an old version of the mod and is here so people have something to play while the newest version (3.01) is in development.

KNOWN ISSUES: Two handed shotgun does not 'break' during reload. Speedloaders sometimes visible on

certain magnum based guns.

Mod Description and Details

Adds items and lore to the game based on both the 'wild west' period of American History, and the works of Stephen King in his novel series: The Dark Tower (aka 'the gunslinger series).

This is a continuing work in progress as part of an eventual compilation that will have themes varying from this one (the west/the gunslinger) to 1950s era SCIENCE! to the dark side of humanity's nature to ....who knows :)

This first iteration of the Treasures of the Wastelands focuses on creating an environment that encompasses the idea that the gunslinger (Roland) and his 'three' (the three people he 'drew' from the doors) passed through this part of this reality by way of temporal and spatial distortions (a thinny)during their journey toward the dark tower (similar to the events in the latter volumes of his book series) and the imprint the gunslinger unavoidably left on this world, causing a ragtag mob of vigilantes to transform into a powerful force for justice and retribution against the evil that stalks the D.C. Wasteland...The Regulators.

The mod will try to draw players into choosing to side with the Regulators, or to side with an as yet unidentified 'evil' faction that is morally the opposite of the Regulators. Immersion in the mod will be encompassed by Lore notes, NPC interactions, themed pre-programmed battles, random encounters, and eventually a formal quest line culminating in Joining the good, the bad, or maybe even the ugly (heh couldnt resist) and fighting the good fight with them.

Beta Release Request to Downloaders:

Downloaders: Please exhaustively search the area around the Triton Facility for errors. Once you have found this area, take a few moments to 'take it all in' and critique our placement of items, sounds, etc., as well as the appearance and stats of the items themselves. Your input on everything from weapon stats to item placement, to my choice of Lore both in-game and in .txt files is of great value to the sucess of this project.

MANY, but not all, of the games new and unique items are available in a CHEST to the LEFT of the cave door after you EXIT VAULT 101 for the first time. These items are here for TESTING, and for those players who just wish to use the new content without all the storyline. In the final versions of the mod, this chest will be gone :)

Installation

=======

1. Download this file to a safe location, preferably its own folder.

2. Extract all the files in the archive to that folder.

3. Read the readme.txt file in case there are changes from what you are seeing here in this version on

the nexus.

4. Read the enclosed text file The Legend of the Regulators.txt

5. Copy the file folders and the .esp file into your Games Data Folder (usually C:\Program

Files\Bethesda\Fallout 3\Data)

6. Download, install, create a shortcut for, and use FOMM (Fallout Mod Manager):

7. *IMPORTANT* -DELETE-Any previous version of the .esp file for this mod

8. in FOMM, check the most current version of this mods .esp file.

9. Launch the game and begin exploring or check out Moira's inventory in Megaton.
