QLIFF is a database system for the administration of your Quake2-Levels. It´s simple to use, it includes a lot of cool features and it's free!

This Zip contains everything you need to use QLIFF 2. It includes the Database for the standard levels but no screenshots or the BDE.

Important: This is not an Update from Version 1! QLIFF 2 will not work with an old QLIFF 1 Database. For using your old Leveldescriptions with QLIFF 2 export them in QLIFF 1 and import them again into QLIFF 2!

What the Hell is QLIFF?

QLIFF is the abbreviation of the Quake Level Informator For Free, a brand-new database which is, as the really intelligent ones of you may already have found out, absolutely free.

You can use this program to reorganize your Multiplayer-Maps and to regain your survey of all the maps you have downloaded, received from friends or just found on your harddisc without knowing where they come from :]

Additionally, QLIFF inludes instruments to ease your access to all the maps in your database.

You do not have any problems with all your maps? Why should you download QLIFF, then?

Because QLIFF has features which are interesting for anyone who plays Quake from time to time.

Do you want to know exactly which and how many maps you have in your q2-Folder?

Perform a Mapscan! This new function is the most important because you do not have to search for your maps manually - everything is done by QLIFF 2. Except for the Screenshots and the rating of course.

Do you want to know which heavy weapons are in the maps?

QLIFF 2 can also perform an Itemscan; use it to find out about Heavy Weapons or Goodies like the Quad or Invulnerability in the level.

Do you want to know for how many players the map is constructed?

Just look at the "Minimum of Players" and the "Maximum of Players" - Windows in the upper right of the interface.

Do you want to play as good as your friends do on their maps?

No problem. Grab the map and add it to your Level-List. Select the "EraserBot" - Option and play the map against bots. The average of the minimum and maximum Players which you entered into the "Players" - Fields will be calculated automatically by QLIFF. Once you´ve entered the level this number of players will be spawned as Bots. You can also choose by yourself against how many bots you want to play.

You can also add the maps you like to the EraserBot Map List - and kick ´em out if you don´t like them anymore.

Your friend likes to have the same data like you - do you need to copy and overwrite and collapse about it?

NO! Because we have integrated a Synchronizer which checks the Quake2/Baseq2-Folders in a LAN and copies the files which the other one does not have automatically. You can choose the files which should be synchronized - Textures, Maps, Paks, Models...it´s your choice!

Do you want to exchange Maps and Map-Data with your friends?

An Import/Export-Function is included in our program.

I don´t play DM or CTF - I prefer Mods!

Well just have a look at our Mod-Support - up to ten Mods can be launched with QLIFF 2.

Something that you should know:

This nice little tool uses the Borland Database Engine (BDE) which has to be installed on your system if you want to use QLIFF. You cannot use QLIFF if the BDE is not installed. So please check out if you have the BDE on your harddisk. If you don´t have it, download it from our Download-Area.
