DirectX 8.1 or higher

Please make sure that DirectX 8.1 or higher is installed on your Computer.

System Requirements

Minimum:

PII-450, 64 MB RAM, 4X CD-ROM, Windows 98/2000/Me/XP, DirectX8.1,

video card with at least 16 MB RAM (compatible to DirectX8.1), Sound card (compatible to DirectX8.1), Harddrive with at least 250 MB free space

Recommended:

PIII-900, 128 MB RAM, 8X CD-ROM, High performance Video card with at least 32 MB RAM

Graphics Cards

Please use the newest available video card drivers for your system.

Port Royale needs a 3D-card and will only run on 3D-capable cards with a minimum of 16 MB Video RAM.

Voodoo graphics Cards

There is a known issue with Voodoo graphics cards and new operating systems, basically due to the fact that there are no officially supported drivers for these cards available for WindowsXP, nor for DirectX 8.x and newer.

There are some unofficial drivers available, some work to a certain extent, others not at all.
