This mix was a result of me finding a very good mix of drumloops and a desire to try out a tune with voice samples to participate in telling the story of a song as much as the instruments do. Most of the actual music composition is my own, but most of the samples are from System Shock 2. So it evens out, I guess. I found the game itself to be very eerie and fun to play. It was a cross between Ultima Underworld and Aliens, which I am a huge fan of both. This mix was for the horror/fear part of the story, which was most of it really.
As I mentioned above, using an extensive amount of vocals in this mix was a new thing for me. I really like the way it turned out tho, timing was the key part I think. Having longer periods of speech to go with the music was fun to accomplish. The eerie-ness of the whole song was exciting to do, with help from the piano, I think I pulled it off nicely. A personal favourite of mine, I don't think many people would like it as much as I do though, as it themes my opinions and thoughts when I play System Shock 2, great mix of drumbeats tho!
