Solves the "waiting for host to connect" message not disappearing when joining a multiplayer game.
Multiplayer Giants Fix... (Unofficial!)
This program should fix the bug with Giants Citizen Kabuto multiplayer games. If when attempting to join a multiplayer server you get a black screen with the prompt "waiting for host to connect" and nothing else happens, this fix is for you.
This fix does not attempt to cure any other bugs/problems with the game.
Run this program at your own risk, backup everything you cannot afford to lose; I take no responsibility for any damage this program does. It works fine on my Windows ME machine, however, I am unable to test its suitability for Windows 2000/NT4. I suspect it will be ok on Win 95/98 machines.
Quick explanation of what's wrong...
When Giants installs it assigns the wrong network Protocol for network games, thus, you never can connect to any games. The connection type is stored in the registry here
HKEY_CURRENT_USER/SOFTWARE/PLANETMOON/GIANTS/IDS/{your player name}/CONNECTIONTYPE
The value stored in that key should be
Internet TCP/IP Connection For DirectPlay
However, I suspect you have got something different. If you are happy editing the registry yourself, be my guest. If you are not, use my program (at your own risk!)
