Level replacement
-----------------
This level is meant to replace Nod's final mission,
SCB13EC.
Mission Description
-------------------
We have completed construction of the Nuclear Warhead,
and Kane wants you to put it to good use. GDI activity
is running high in this area, and intelligence reports
three GDI bases present. We are running low on troops
from previous battles, and with what forces you have,
set up a base and eliminate all GDI presence.
Zip Contents
------------
savegame.504: This is a saved game taken the instant
the mission was started.
avatar.ini: The .ini file for the mission.
avatar.bin: The .map file for the mission.
mission.ini: This file contains the mission briefing
for my mission.
avatar.txt: The text file you are reading now.
Usage
-----
For those who don't want to bother messing around
editing files, a savegame has been supplied that was
taken the instant the mission started. Simply copy
this file (savegame.504) into your Command and Conquer
directory (rename it if you don't want to lose one of
your savegames). Then simply load that file when you
start. You will not be able to restart the mission if
you do this, you will have to re-load it if you need
to try again. If you choose this method, you can
ignore the next two parts.
If you want to be able to restart the mission, view
the mission briefing, and hear the new music, you
must copy mission.ini, avatar.ini, and avatar.bin
to the C&C directory. Go to the C&C directory and
rename avatar.ini to scb13ec.ini and avatar.bin to
scb13ec.bin. Now when you load the saved game, you
will be able to restart the mission, hear the new
music, and view the mission briefing.
If you want everything above permanent you'll have
to use the .map (.bin) and .ini files and replace
them into the general.mix file using Mixman. I won't
explain how to do this.
Glitches
--------
GDI won't build back infantry, because they are
created as a team, and the computer player won't
build back destroyed teams. If I placed them on the
map when the mission started, so they could be rebuilt,
the .ini file went way over size. Also, your Chinooks
which come in as reinforcements land a little while
after the computer announces reinforcements arriving.
Mission Tips
------------
(1)Head north once you start, don't set up your base
along the coast.
(2)Be prepared for an attack at the very beginning.
(3)The taking of the GDI base at the center-left hand
side will greatly help you... You can then build
Orcas and Mammoth Tanks.
(4)Search for a wooden crate containing 2000 Tiberium
credits.
New Music
---------
If you rename avatar.ini to scb13ec.ini and avatar.bin
to scb13ec.bin in the C&C directory, or if you use
Mixman to replace the .map (.bin) and .ini files
into the general.mix file, load savegame.504, then hit
Abort, then Restart. You can then listen to a sound
track called 'Die' which replaces Track 1 of C&C
(Demolition). To repeat the tune Die, go to Sound
Options and tell it to repeat Track 1.
