SmokeScreen is a freeware privacy tool and file splitter. It will hide your files by splitting them in chunks, then scrambling them, and (if desired) attach them to existing files.

SmokeScreen is a privacy tool and file splitter.

It will hide your files by splitting them in chunks, then scrambling them and (if desired) attach them to existing files. This makes your data almost unfindable, since files like .bmp continue to behave as they normally would without you noticing any difference except in file size. SmokeScreen scrambles the files dependent on a pasword you choose, and smokescreen itself won't be able to find any files it has hidden if the password is incorrect. There is no repeated 'Recognition signature' to files hidden by SmokeScreen like 'PK' at the beginning of .zip files, so a simple search will not reveal files hidden by SmokeScreen.

Files generated can be named by combining two editable naming lists.

Switching off the privacy feature turns SmokeScreen in a normal file splitter capable of splitting into an unlimited number of volumes.

SmokeScreen is highly customiseable offering many additional features like e.g. user-formattable (html) lists of generated files.

All in all, SmokeScreen is fast, small and intuitive to use.
