It's back to Dune 2, the game that started RTS games lkike Warcraft, C&C & Starcraft. The music from that game, although usually short, and very Midi, was very Dune, or at least over time it became Dune. Frank Klepacki was given the task of creating music for the Atreides and the Harkonnen, and, as a new group, the stealthy Ordos. I always prefered the Ordos. The game was amazing in it's time, and a small detail I remember from it was that during one of the battles, purple troopers started attacking me!! ARGH! Later you find out it's the Emperor's personal hi-trained elite guards, the Sardaukar. They were like Ordos, but pure evil, carnage and power. This tune represents both the Ordos and the Sardaukar well, and since I kicked the Sardaukar's asses all so long ago, this is my tribute to the army that just could have wiped me out, had I not built so many trikes. The Time Bomb name I chose since that's what they were really, you know they would show and when they did, boom :)
As far as the arrangement goes, this is 90% a remake of the original MIDI, ofcouse I edited bits here and there, chucked in some of my own things and took some of the 'unwanted' sounds out, this is just the tune by the way. The drums, on the other hand, are all by me. I created the beats from scratch and distorted (not too much I hope) the original drum patterns. I was really annoyed at the drums for a while, but my friend said they were great, so that's that, I finally gave in.
