Back to another great classic, Ultima Underworld was the first proper 3D action/rpg game ever released, and the music, ofcourse, was very memorable. There were a few music pieces that played randomly through out the levels, and I chose one named 'The Wanderer' (note: nothing to do with Diablo 2, coinsidence!). The original score was written by the 'Fatman' himself George Sanger and Dave Govett (who was the man responsible for the magically epic "Master of Magic" game soundtrack). 'Wandering Fool' is just what I was when playing this great game...woulda beaten it earlier aswell if I worked out what leeches did :\.

Where to start, first of all, after I tracked this into Impulse Tracker I studied the whole thing long and hard and decided (after a very long time...weeks if not months), to change a majority of the orchestral instruments into one 'bell' pick, which resulting in overlapping leads and, well, to me it sounded, and still sounds, awesome. The strings are the only orchestral instruments of the original that I left un-resampled :), thats not including the timpani drums, which took me a while to do, thought they would be easy, I thought wrong. As for the drums, I had my mind set on this style ever since the start, and I'm glad I left them as they are. Added an acid sequence towards the end, very simple, I know, but that's the way I wanted em. Finally, if anyone noticed the bass at the start, that was fun. It took me a while to make up random bass bits to the tune, but I think I pulled it off ok, and added a fast flanger effect to it too.
