Fly Patch - .84 to .85
This is the latest Fly! patch for upgrading from the previous patch only.
Patching version .84 to version .85
Very Important: You must apply this patch to the .84 patched version of Fly! If you do not already have the .84 patched version of Fly!, you need to download and install FlyPatch101RC4.EXE as described in the Full Patch installation section.
The patch from version .84 to .85 patch has two distinct files as described below:
FlyPatch84to85.exe This is the mandatory portion of the patch. This updates the FLY.EXE file and the patch101.epd file as well as a few other files. You must have patched version .84 installed before trying to apply this patch or the patch will fail. You must run this patch tool to successfully install the 1.01.85 patch.
FlyPatch101RC3Optional.exe This is an optional patch. This updates the global elevation mesh, as well as roads and rivers. If you typically fly in areas outside the satellite scenery areas, this should improve elevation changes such as mountain ranges. You must have a factory fresh install of the global elevation data for this patch to work. You can not patch the previous patched version of the global elevation data. If you downloaded and installed the RC3 optional data in the past, you do not need to apply this patch again.
Problems Fixed
This patch addresses the following issues:
02/03/2000 (1.01.85)
- VASI lights would sometimes draw incorrectly, or be intelligible, from a distance; fixed.
- A "random" crash bug would occur when checking for navaids signal strength in mid-flight; fixed.
- Some taxiways would not appear because airport ID's have been corrected in the master database; fixed.
- Airport diagrams would appear incorrectly under Windows 2000; fixed.
- Edit field text was not being processed correctly under Windows 2000, which would render certain dialogs such as the Airport Directory unusable; fixed.
- New keyboard commands were not appearing for localized versions of Fly!, which are required to access the Checklist window and IFR panel toggle functions; fixed.
- Importing METAR files could sometimes cause frame rate stuttering when transitioning from overcast to non-overcast weather conditions; fixed.
