Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim - Dog To Wolf Companion Mod v1.6 (Eyed)

This modification changes the mesh files of all the Irish Wolfhounds to the wolves found out in the wild. This version gives the wolf dogs reflective eyes with the option of either blue or brown eye color for the white wolf.

There are 8 color options: Black, Grey, Red, Fire, Timber, White, German Shepard and Siberian Husky. When installing open the folder of which color you want and drag both the meshes and textures folder into your Skyrim/Data folder.

There will always be a screenshot for each skin (and skin variation) I make available. They may not be in any logical order, but they are there.

I have fixed my sloppy file management. Here's what's changed:

There are two main files. These are the meshes. Pick one.

There are many "optional files." These are the skins. Pick one.

There is one miscellaneous file you might want, and it changes the dog sounds into wolf sounds.

New skin: darker black wolf with a bit of a white muzzle

Many previous skins have been lumped together. For example, I had three "Husky" variations. They are now lumped together in the Husky skin zip.

This is a mesh swap that will turn all the Irish Wolfhound dogs into wolves.

There are two versions: eyed and eyeless. What's the difference? Read on.

The eyeless version:

Cons - your new wolf dog will not have eyes

Pros - animations are very smooth and natural, the wolf model uses all the dog animations

The eyed version:

Pros: your wolf dog will have real, reflective eyes

Cons: animations are not as smooth, some issues with the dog sitting, laying down animations removed and replaced with sitting ones because of animation problems

The eyed and eyeless versions provide only the meshes. Download a skin separately (in optional downloads). Elemental wolves are a little weird and are the exception - they contain both the mesh and skin.

These skins for your dog do not affect the other wolves in the world, and changing the wolves in your world will not affect your new dog. However, all dogs will look like the one dog skin you choose. I am not yet able to make them unique.

Both versions have the barking removed, replaced with quieter idle animations. Dogs will still whimper, grunt, sniff, and scratch - just no more barking. Download the sound pack (in miscellaneous files) to replace dog noises with wolf noises.

I suggest making your dogs essential (through mods or console commands), as this mod does not alter that aspect in any way.

If you want barking enabled, just go into Data/meshes/actors/canine/animations and delete the animations that have the word "bark" in them.
