This modification is designed to increase the fun factor of playing mages by making combat both challenging and reward, needing tactical use of spells, mana, potions and staffs.
Magicka Empowered is designed to increase the fun factor of playing mages by making combat both challenging and rewarding, needing tactical use of spells, mana, potions and staffs.
Optional Better wards file added.
Wards cost half mana and protect 80/100/120 instead of 40/60/80 , in game txt claims the wards protect less then normal, this is a bug they work properly(Run ward and open inventory armor section and your armor will be increased the correct ammount)
New in 1.4
Major reworking of spell cost/mana regen.
Mana regen is no longer reduced.
Base spell costs are only reduced by 7% (was 50%)
Skill based spell cost reduction ramped up to 50%(was 35%) at 100skill.
Craft novice and expert destruction staffs at a forge.
Staffs require firewood+Spell book+Ruby,Diamond or sapphire(or flawless+ gold ingot for expert) depending on staff.
A more balanced system in regards to default Skyrim with the mod having most effect at higher levels.(where the real problems with mana cost/effectiveness comes into play)
In regards to spells taking 3 seconds to cast(destruction) when the charge sound stops spell=Ready.
So you dont have to estimate it like you did for 2 second charge on fire/ice spells.

Base cost of spells reduced by 7%
Dual casting
Now takes 3 times as long as one handed version to cast.
Effect increased from 2.2 to 3.0 * normal.
You can still chainstun most things, but you cant let mana recharge while you do it.. and if you miss you are in big trouble.
Magic School Skill effect on spell cost changed
from .25% cost reduction per skill point(max 25%)
to .50% cost reduction per skill point(max 50%)
Enchanting Skill factor changed from 1.25 to 1.4
Allowing ~12% better enchanted items. Making them slightly more powerful then random non unique items you can find.(mostly)
