UT2004 - LogParser for UTStats

LogParser works in conjuction with UTStats for Unreal Tournament 99. It uses UTStats's fixtext.exe to convert your log files to the proper format, imports your logs to mysql, then deletes your logs, all with one click. This is a windows program written in VB

NOTE: This program is intended for UT99, no other version of UT has been tested.

Fixes in Version 2.0

- Separated the "Convert" function from the "Process Now" function so that you only need to convert the files once, but can select a few logs to process, then select more later and process again. This saves time by not converting each time.

- Fixed the problem with multiple selections not working. No matter which files you selected, it would process all, now it only processes and deletes the files you select.

- Changed layout a bit.

- Changed process times... it's a little quicker now.

- Made dos windows visible when processing and converting so you can see what's happening

- made caption which shows what the program is doing larger. ie, "processing files, please wait", etc.

Discription:

I created LogParser because I was finding it teadious to run the batchfiles to convert my log files and then another batchfile to import my logs into the MySQL database. This program simply does all that work for you. LogParser works in conjunction with UTstats Copyright (C) 2004 by azazel and pjmodos. You need to install their program first. You also need to build the sql tables as discribed

in their package. You'll also want to make sure that the files "fixtext.exe" and "fixtext.ini" are located in your log directory. That should be all you need to do with UTstats, other than installing php and mysql. From there, you can use

this program to select all the log files you want to process and let er' run. The program will convert all the log files to the proper format, then import them into your sql database, and optionally delete the logs afterwards. (Don't use the delete option until you know the program is working for you.)

Installation:

Unzip the package into a temp folder, and run setup from there. Before you run the the program, edit the logparser.ini file (in the program directory) and change the folders to reflect your unreal installation, otherwise, you'll get an error when you try to open the program. If needed, the fixtext.exe and fixtext.ini are included in this program's install directory and should be copied into your logs folder. This is crucial. Once installed, run the program and click the "settings" button. Choose the appropriate folders and files. The last one, convert.bat, will be created for you on your first run, so don't expect to see it in the file list until you've

saved your settings at least one time. Click "save settings" and you'll be taken back to the main page. Click the refresh button if your logs are showing up in the list. If they still aren't showing up, go back to settings and check your folders. The list only shows ".log" files, so if you don't have any logs in that folder,

you won't see anything until there are logs to see. ".tmp" and other files won't show in this list.

Now you're ready to go. From now on, when you load the program, you'll have a list of logs in front of you. Click the "Convert Logs" button and wait for conversion to complete. Then select the one's you want to process and click "process now". To select multiple files individually, use ctrl-left-click. To select all files, click first file, scroll to end, and Shift-click the last file. Everything in between should be highlighted.
