About the Map

This map was my first ever attempt at mapping and scripting. I started 5 months ago having always the goal in mind to make some resistance, sabotage and battle scenarios about Greece in WWII.

The architecture of the buildings is based on a realistic traditional environment of those years in Corfu villages.

As this is my first map, it has many planning, designing and scripting errors.

My aim of building this map was to gain experience, knowledge and a good understanding of how the software works and how the progress and steps of the making should be.

What I would like to achieve in the future is the making of a series of missions that depict the different historical locations and action in Greece at that time.

Unfortunately on 24 of February 2003 (tomorrow :D) I have to join the Greek army for almost one year.

The unfortunate part is that I was not able to completely finish this level and worse can’t really start on another one.

The good part of it is that as a soldier I’ll make some research of Greek WWII history, ideas for mapping, modelling vehicles, artillery and guns and get close to the filling of a soldier. What could be better than that for some MOH action?

Mission Background

The location is Corfu Island in a small coastal town during the German occupation of Greece. The occupying forces have turned the town into a coastal fortress, turning out and forcing the locals into hiding in the hills of Corfu.

The Mission Story

Hiding in the Corfu hills you see your people suffer and long to have their homes back again. With most able bodied Greek men either imprisoned or in resistance actions elsewhere freedom of the town looks a long way off. But the sudden promise of Allied air support for the local resistance in knocking out the beach artillery, which is becoming a problem for the passing transports, gives you an idea that is surely a suicide mission.

On a clear night you set off alone to free your town from it's dark oppression, or die trying.

To Start The Level

1. Place the 'User-Greece_1943_SP.pk3' in your MOHAA/Main directory

2. Start MOHAA

3. Open the consol (see below) and type in - maplist. This will reveal the list of maps, double click on - test_CorfuLiberty.bsp - to start the level

or

3.2 Open the consol (see below) and type in - map test_CorfuLiberty.bsp

If you do not know how to open the consol.

In MOHAA main screen go to options and then advanced. Make sure that there is a tick next to the line 'consol' if not click on it. You will now be able to access the consol by pressing the '~' key, normally found straight under the 'ESC' key on your keyboard.

You did all of the above but nothing happens? Can’t find test_CorfuLiberty.bsp?

Make sure that - User-Greece_1943_SP.pk3 is in your MOHAA/main directory.
