The primary responsibilities for the Junior Web Producer position are to manage the day-to-day production, produce promotional web pages, mini sites, and emails from comps provided by the designers, using HTML and CSS, with attention paid to accessibility and SEO and maintenance of our network of entertainment portals. There may also be the occasional Flash ad to be produced from provided designs.
The ideal candidate must have at least 2 years of experience in a professional web development environment and must be able to hand-code CSS and HTML. A basic proficiency in JavaScript, ASP, and other scripting language is desired. The candidate should be familiar with DreamWeaver/Homesite, Fireworks, Flash, Photoshop, and other web publishing tools.
The ability to work under tight deadlines and on multiple projects simultaneously is essential, and must work well with a group. Attention to detail and excellent communication skills are a must.
General Responsibilities
- Author new pages in CSS/HTML and implements modifications to current pages.
- Assists with the flow of information for the website production group.
- Monitors and maintains the daily production of a web site.
- Has knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices and procedures within the web production workflow.
- Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job.
- Extensive knowledge of CSS and HTML, with hand-coding ability.
- Working knowledge of Macromedia Dreamweaver, Fireworks and Adobe Photoshop.
- Proven experience working in the front-end development process, working with designers and IT.
- Experience working with ASP and other scripting languages highly desired.
- Javascript authoring ability highly desired.
- 4-year college degree in related field is desired.
- Advanced skills in HTML and CSS.
- Basic skills in JavaScript - intermediate or better a plus.
- Basic skills in Flash - intermediate or better a plus.
- Familiarity with Photoshop interface for cropping/slicing images and making minor changes to graphics and text.
