Fusion Pack is a replacement pack for Counter-Strike which will replace almost every feature of Counter-Strike including Weapons, Player Models, Sounds, Sprites, Graphics and More! We have scoured the Internet and gone through hundreds of models to bring you the highest quality replacements possible. It is our goal to make Counter-Strike as visually stunning and realistic as possible without having to tamper with the code.

1. About the Fusion Pack

Note* the update for Fusion Pack 6.5 will need to be installed on top of Fusion Pack 6.0.

This version of the fusion pack try’s to eliminate some of the problems which were encountered in our previous packs. We have also included a single player option featuring the popular POD BOT and a collection of waypoint files which will allow future expansion of single player maps. The idea behind this version is to eliminate the primary need of an internet or LAN connection while continuing to add fun to the game using BOT’s and replacement features. The version also includes a whole range of enhancements for the user to enjoy including sounds, sprites, weapon models and more!

The idea of the series of fusion packs is to provide the best replacements possible to make Counter-Strike its best. That is why we do not unnecessarily replace any model that doesn’t have a better version available on the internet. In this version we have literally replaced every item of the game and are confident that users will enjoy the experience of playing Counter-Strike with our pack installed.

The Fusion Pack genre is now coming to an end. We feel we have achieved everything that we set out to do and more! After 6.5 we will possibly be releasing another add-on with more maps and a few finishing touches, other than that there is nothing more we can really do to this great add-on for CS which many have admired. If you are unfamiliar with our Fusion Pack it was our goal to make Counter-Strike as visually stunning and realistic as possible without having to tamper with the code.

Please note that all models in Fusion Pack 1.0, 2.0, 3.0, 4.0, 5.0 and 6.0 are included in the full install of Fusion Pack 6.5. If you are installing the Fusion Pack 6.5 update you must first download and install Fusion Pack 6.0 full.

3. How to install

The file that you will need to install should be named as FusionPackFull_6.5.exe or FusionPackUpdate_6.5.exe. Simply double click on the file and follow the installation instructions. You will need to install the files into your x:\sierra\half-life directory (x being the destination drive letter of where your copy of Half-Life/Counter-Strike is installed).

If you encounter any problems installing the pack please read the support information provided bellow.

4. Support Information

Q. I installed the pack successfully but when I try to connect to a game it keeps failing.

A. In some instances this can occur due to certain software running in the background. If you have any software such as punkbuster or anti virus software shut it down before you try entering the game. It has been reported that doing this will fix the problem. If that doesn’t work download the sprite fix from the Games Fusion website, it has been reported that the custom sprites included in our Fusion Pack can also cause this problem for some people.

Q. I installed the pack successfully but when I go into the game all the models are still the defaults.

A. Make sure you installed the pack into the right directory the install program points to C:\Sierra\Half-Life\ by default. If your Half-Life directory is different to this or is located on another drive you will need to change the path. The files automatically install to the cstrike folder with all the sub directory’s so you will only need to point to the Sierra\Half-Life\ directory.

Q. An error comes up when I try to install the files.

A. If you get a corrupt message check the file size to the stated file size on the Games Fusion site. If the file size is smaller you will need to download the pack again, make sure you choose a different mirror to download the pack. Don't forget to use a download resume program for example GetRight (http://www.getright.com).

Q. I installed the pack successfully but when I go to run the game it comes up with an error saying "server is enforcing file consistency for P_ or W_ model".

A. This is unlikely to happen since we have tested all our models individually in game. If you do get this message make sure you have any custom models of your own installed. You can correct this problem by doing a fresh install of your copy of Counter-Strike and reinstalling the pack.

Q. Why does Counter-Strike now run so slowly after installing the pack?

A. Our Fusion Pack uses very high quality models and sounds; you will need a fast system to run it We suggest at least a P3 600, 128Megs of RAM, 32MB graphics card and a decent sound card with hardware acceleration. If it still runs slow remember to close all programs before entering the game. This will help to free up RAM and other system resources.

Q. I am having problems with the supplied bot, what should I do?

A. For this version we are using the POD BOT, we have included the official documentation for this BOT in the cstrike\PODBot\Docs folder. There should also be information on usage and support contacts, if not please view our support contacts which are listed at the bottom of the page.

Q. Why does it take me longer to connect to a game?

A. Because our Fusion Pack contains very high detailed models it may take your system a little bit longer to load. If you get a connection failed message try connecting to another server.

Q. I don’t like some of the models in the pack how do I replace them?

A. There are many sites on the net which offer weapon and player model replacements; we have listed some of them in the credits at the bottom of the page.

Q. How do I uninstall the pack?

A. The pack comes complete with an uninstall program, if you run into problems or simply want to uninstall the pack just click on the uninstall icon which should be in your start menu under the name Fusion Pack. You can also return to your defaults by installing a fresh copy of Counter-Strike.

Q. Does the Fusion Pack change any of the Counter-Strike or Half-Life code?

A. No. Fusion Pack does not change any code what so ever. It just replaces old features with new features so you shouldn't have any other problems with the game.

Q. Why can't I see the whole of my HUD?

A. This problem is not caused by the Fusion Pack. This is a resolution problem which is randomly caused when connecting to some servers. There may be help on how to fix this problem in the official Counter-Strike support Forums.
