Specialist v2000d
This is the new release of the Specialist mod now at version 2000d for Tribes.
We are pleased to announce the public release of the Specialist mod (v2000d) for Tribes.
Personally, we love the Renegades mod. But the Specialist mod was developed
to showcase many ideas that we did not see in any mods (yet) or that we would like
to see in future mods, and to demonstrate what is possible.
For example, you can deploy a Backup Generator, build on Blast Walls and
Forcefields, intercept enemy communications with the Eavesdropper, or
use the Infiltrator pack to enter the enemy base where they least expect it...
Auto-loadouts make it easy to learn and play.
Choose from 9 different Specialist roles, each with its own unique abilities and
strengths: Recon, Espionage, Infantry, Engineer, Fallout, Demolitions, Assault,
Artillery, or Commander. Use radiation, poison gas, triggered explosives, acid,
and EMP weapons as well as traditional ones. Each armor is NOT restricted to
just one type of grenade and beacon. In fact, you can carry more than one kind
at a time!
And the Specialist mod gives a little taste of what Tribes 2 will be like with new
vehicles, and other small details. Jump into a Tank, park it on a hill overlooking
the enemy base, and let your four friends open fire with the tank's turrets. Or
carpet bomb their base with the Bomber. Lock on with the Rocket Launcher,
and watch them take evasive maneuvers!
Developed directly from base code, the Specialist mod has all known base bugs
fixed, and is fully compatible with Tribes v1.11.
