Dwarf Fortress Movie
A 5 minute video from the alpha version of the game Dwarf Fortress.
Dwarf Fortress has two gameplay modes:
- 'Fortress mode' where gameplay is similar to a RTS /City sim. Dwarves use their jobs at workshops to produce goods and equipment, and to become a seat of power for the dwarves. In post-alpha versions, the ability to send soldiers outside of the fortress to an enemy's fortress will be possible, eventually leading to a Battle for Middle Earth 2 sort of War of the Ring.
- 'Adventure mode' where the player assumes the role of a human, dwarf, or elf and explores the world, killing monsters that plague towns and getting rewarded in the process. You can even find allies, who will follow you to your abandoned fortresses which you created (and lost) in fortress mode, to fight what dwells within.
Despite it's ancient graphics, it is very deep in it's level of detail (left and right gloves!) and will have a decent level of originality, once it reaches it's finished version.
