Jupiter Effect: influx is a full multiplayer conversion of Unreal Tournament 2003. JEI is a very fast paced game with large robots that can do large amounts of damage very quickly.

JUPITER EFFECT: INFLUX BETA 2 PHASE I ENTRY PATCH (v2.00)

NEW FEATURES:

-AAC Puma gun (not a cat, no animals were harmed in the making of this game. Although several people were)

-Permanent dashing

BUG FIXES:

-Ammo Pod key config label fixed.

GAMEPLAY BALANCES:

-Not really.

GRAPHICAL CHANGES:

-Several new particle effects have been added. These replace particles on the D6 mine and Fusion Grenades.

KNOWN ISSUES:

-Jupiter Effect requires v2225 or above of UT2003.

-You MUST leave the 'Allow Behindview' option ON when hosting a server.

-Chaff is not implemented properly yet, but it is placed in Heaven's Corridor.

-Booster items respawn on the player, but are also placed in Heaven's Corridor.

-Oxygen has been removed from the game, but the Oxygen item is placed in Heaven's Corridor.

-Missiles will go after the closest person to you, not who you are targeting.

FUTURE PLANS:

-Jupiter Effect will be entered in the Phase I "Make Something Unreal" Contest.

JUPITER EFFECT: INFLUX BETA 1 SERVER BROWSER PATCH (v1.01)

NEW FEATURES:

-Server browser has reverted to the default UT2003 one. To join a game you need to go to the 'Custom' tab of the server browser and pick the Jupiter Effect game type.

-Options page has reverted to the default UT2003 one with a few minor changes. In other words, you can invert your mouse and rebind your keys without editing the JEIuser.ini now.

BUG FIXES:

-Consecutive use of items has been fixed.

-Booster item can no longer increase your movement speed beyond twice its default.

-During installation an abort caused by failing to find UT2003 in the registry has been changed to a warning so those with corrupt registries may still have a chance to play. The success rate of this is unknown, but it will be greater than what it was prior, which was 0%. If you receive this warning please let us know if you can play or not.

GAMEPLAY BALANCES:

-Storm Cannon damage increased per bullet from 10 to 12.

GRAPHICAL CHANGES:

-Secondary smoke removed from missiles to revive their anime look. Size of their mesh was also reduced 30%.

FUTURE PLANS:

-The gameplay of Jupiter Effect right now is something between a simulation and an arcade game. We will be moving much, much, closer towards an arcade game.

-The HUD is being redone. The new one will have less clutter and be more component-based to allow for the easier addition of new items or features.

-Walking will be replaced with dashing because that is more fun and fits with our primary design mandate.

-Get chaff working as intended so players have some defence against missiles.

-An unsupported zip + instructions version of Jupiter Effect will be made for those users running Linux or Macintosh. We would like to support said zip, but we do not use either platform to develop so we're going to have to rely on the community to help with that.
