A map featuring an island initally controlled by the germans in the center, and two airstrips, one for each side at the top and bottom.

This map is based arond a fictional battle in the southern mediterainian during WW2. The Germans control a heavily fortified island in the center of the map, and a tiny airstrip with two planes in the bottom corner. The allies start with supiorior air power: an island airstrip with three spitfires and a b17 in the top corner. The allies also start with a fletcher class destroyer parked outside the beach on the island. The german controlled island is all cliffs so the only way onto the island is through this beach landing and one secret entrance on the sides of the island (a ladder up the sides of some cliffs). The allies must invade over the beach under cover of air support. Once the allies secure the beach head they must move up the beach and into the main island with only two tanks. Then the allies have to control the other four control points on the island: The beach defenses, the german town, the german armory, and the top of a hill towards the back of the island. The germans start with vastly supioror armor on the island, but the close quarters and rugged terain even the odds for the alllies who will have to rely on mostly infantry attacks in order to secure the island. An extremely well designed map, you can tell alot of thought and effort went into this map. Designed especially for team play, anyone will have fun with this map as it encompasses everything thats great about battlefield 1942. An A++ job. Download this map.
