Top 5 Games to Play with a Hangover...

Recently the FilePlanet team and several of our friends had an after work get-together that inevitably led to drinking Jagermeister and accosting the bartender for yet another 7&7. Waking up after such a booze-filled night is your just payment for how much fun you had, and let's be honest - there aren't many games you feel like playing while the room won't stop moving. So begins our epic list, 5 games to play with a hangover...

#5 - Sims 3

Even though you can't see straight without getting a headache - at least you let your digital buddies continue on with a normal life. Let your Sims take out the garbage, flirt with girls and head to work with a smile while you simultaneously grumble how doing these things would make you vomit. Screw you Sims! *click click click click click*

#4 - Solitaire

Alright, I picked Solitaire but honestly any card game will do that doesn't include heavy betting and heightening your blood pressure. It's brainless, soothing, and the payoff is a bunch of cards jack-rabbited around your screen. I recommend picking gentle clouds for the back of your cards, and avoid orange plastic frog. Trust me.

#3 - Crayon Physics

Remember when you were 5 and you used to draw a stick figure family and houses that looked like evil pointy mushrooms with windows. Well what could be better for your sickly condition then re-living those days by pulling out some digital crayons and solving puzzles with your own artistic vision. No drawing on the walls!

Quite the explosive relationship.

#2 - Bejeweled

Rewarding you for random clicking with shiny jewels, Bejeweled 2 has made it to the heart of many. Avoid all those complicated strategy games, first-person shooters and RPG's and just keep things simple - match gems. Also recommended, Peggle - even less brain required! Avoid the stupid Zuma frog though, or you'll need aspirin.

#1 - DOOM

So at first glance, DOOM seems like an unlikely option for a hangover - but what you realize once you jump into killing a few nasty imps and finding the secret shotgun in the first level is that you have this game ingrained in your skull. Due to mental muscle-memory, you'll cruise through the first episode without even having to think - enjoy it!

Dragon Age: Origins Arrives...

One of my favorite games of all times was Balder's Gate, and I'm proud to announce that its spiritual successor is here to claim the throne. Dragon Age: Origins has just launched on Direct2Drive, and many of us are working like eager beavers (and ferrets) to get home and install it and play. Will this game feature the infinitely powerful but cute miniature giant space hamster? Only time will tell.

Ghost of the Past Award - Best Classic Horror
WINNER: SYSTEM SHOCK 2

Of all the creepy classics, none of freaked me out just like System Shock 2. Taking place on 2114 on a starship taken over by a rogue AI, this game created by Irrational games uses monstrosities, creepy audio tapes and the ships ambiance to create a frightening experience. The old demo is still available to those that dare try it out.

Runner-up: DOOM, Clive Barker's Undying, 7th Guest

Pants-Changing Award - Most Startling Game
WINNER: F.E.A.R.

This was not an easy pick; the most startling game had many different contenders for the win. But the one game that everybody selected in their list was F.E.A.R., so something about that creepy little bitch Alma floating across a hallway and fizzling lights spiked even the strongest FP Editor's heart rate. Check out the demo!
