7 Quirky Half-Life 2 Mods

Most of us are aware of the Insurgency's or Dytopia's of the Half-Life 2 world, but there is another side of the modding community that is commonly dismissed. In fact, most of the mods we'll touch on in today's Fileblog don't even have many screenshots to be found on the internet and had to be taken by us. My personal favorite was Teddy Wars, but there is much fun to be found in rope-pulling mimes, sneaky explosive trees and even an irate donkey taxi driver.

Teddy Wars Mod
A demented mix of Teddy bears, bullets and blood - Teddy Wars packs an amazing punch for its small file size. Your arsenal is completely customizable, and your carnage is amazing. Controls are simple; your right mouse button creates "bullet time". Warning: Contains lots of violence!

A Corny Voyage Mod
Imagine this: You're a renegade piece of corn shooting down the inside of a human being. You rush at growing speed by various internal organs to reach your final destination. Sounds exciting right? That's why it makes one of the weirdest mods I've ever played.

Suicide Survival Mod
In Suicide Survival there are two teams. One is the Survivors, who wield the book "Gardening for Beginners". The others are the Suiciders who play as shrubberies in a map full of other vegetation allowing them to blend into the environment and explode on command. Leafy chaos ensues!

A "funkalicious first-person dish washing wonder" is what the website proclaims, and I have to say that's some honest marketing. Take the claws of a dish-washing crocodile and get down with the groovy beats, brushing in time to get rid of those funky stains. Remember: no stain, no game!

Blind Monk's Society Mod
Created as a five week project, this Half-life 2 mod hasn't a single graphic associated to it. Make sure to wear surround-sound earphones and take the first stumbling steps as a blind person as the monks teach you how to "see with your ears". Damn those eye-pecking birds!
