Now that we have all your submissions, it is time to vote on the best of the best. We have featured our top ten and you can now vote for your favorite costumes. Take your time and chose wisely because you get one vote, and your votes will dictate whom of these ten will make the top three and which will be voted as FilePlanet's best Halloween costume of 2008.
We've had some great costumes submitted as well as some stinkers. Some people didn't even read the rules and submitted random costumes that had nothing to do with videogames just in the hopes of winning a prize.
Since people seemed to like the office photos from the last blog, so I guess I could post a couple more as examples of what costumes would be GOOD and what costumes would be BAD to submit to the contest next year.
Here is an example of a real stinker. Justin here, another member of the FilePlanet team, went ALL out this year with his costume, The Frog Whisperer. Tsk tsk Justin, you can do better than that.
Now an example of a GREAT costume would be these two lovely ladies from our office both dressed as Chung Li. Holy crap I'm seeing double... FOUR Chung Lis!
Those of you that didn't enter the contest this year we'd like to see you guys enter next year and really blow things out with some amazing entries. Just remember if you promise bigger and better costumes for us next year, we'll promise bigger and better prizes!
Don't forget to vote, click here and let us know which costumes are your favorites.
Let's be honest, we all have fond memories of the classic First-Person Shooters that haunted our childhoods. Every once in a while, we fire them up to get that old nostalgia back - but they never quite look as good as we remember them. Recently somebody pointed out WolfGL for Wolfenstein 3D to me (available in Shareware & Retail versions) and I went on a short but sweet Nazi-killing spree. You can grab the Wolfenstein 3D Shareware here, it requires either that or the full version of the game. This also lead to me to JDOOM, which as you might guess updates the DOOM engine to a more spiffy looking alternative with all the same gameplay.
Doomsday + JDoom + DOOM Shareware = This
But the truly greatest discovery however was the Duke Nukem 3D High Resolution Pack which essentially turns it into a more modern-day game with 3d models and effects. As always, you can grab all of these on FilePlanet and spend a few hours of your own reminiscing old school gaming with a current day twist. What are you waiting for? Christmas?
Grab the High Resolution Pack HERE!
