The weekend of gratuitous gore is upon us and as ghosts, ghoulies and vampires decend on our houses in the dark I thought it would be fun to gather the FilePlanet top 5 Bloodiest games. DOOM has been given a lot of bad rap about causing desensitization and grossing out squirmy female players, but let's be honest - anybody that has been gaming for a while has seen the bar raised for buckets of sloshing blood. So here they are, in no particular order:
#5 - Dead Space
A sinister trip into the USG Ishimura is fraught with disembodied floating limbs and blood spray painting the walls. The monsters that will accommodate your stay there will add to the slaughterhouse as your mining arsenal takes them out in the most brutal fashion. It can almost make you queasy, if it wasn't so damn fun.

#4 - Ninja Gaiden 2
Speaking of ripping people's arms off, Ninja Gaiden has an amazingly horrific combat system where Ryu can dismember his enemies. So don't count on the enemies just falling over and laying still, instead they will move prone and use suicide tactics such as pinning you down kamikaze style with explosives.
#3 - F.E.A.R.
Tiny bloody footprints is a main piece in the puzzle that is F.E.A.R as we watch every corner of our eyeball for the creepy little bitch Alma. Slow down the game with reflex time and toss a grenade into unsuspecting troopers and watch their ragdoll bodies get ripped apart with buckets of blood.
#2 - Condemned 2: Bloodshot
Blood is even in the damn title, so what do you think? Rip off a 2x4 or a rusty pipe off the wall and bludgeon a host of bizarre enemies into submission, but be prepared for the fight back - they won't leave you without your own gaping wounds.

What is there to say, this game is just wrong. Kill random people in a bloody fashion, then pee on their body for good measure - one of the more disgusting games every made.
Here at the office we like to celebrate the ghoulish holiday by dressing up as our favorite game characters and screaming "TRICK OR TREAT" at doors of neighboring buildings. Generally all the people in suits and ties look at us awkwardly, but after a little prodding with our fake (but realistic) weapons they hand over their various cough drops and the occasional packet of Skittles.

Brought to you by the fine mappers at forums.joe.to, this is a collection of three different Halloween theme maps for 2008. The first one CS_Silenthill is a rendition of the game/movie with a eerily familiar grey fog overwhelming the town of Silent Hill, it's a difficult to navigate map and I suggest you not play it against bots since they can see through the fog.
The second map is DE_Fearmansion which is a huge mansion with lots of Halloween props and gags that makes exploring a lot of fun. And last, but not least - DE_Haunts is a theme park ride of horror letting you ride in the cart and all.
