The Make Something Unreal Contest has always brought out the best mappers
and designers in order to tear at various categories. The final submissions for Phase 1 were due Friday, June 27 and have been accepted bringing Phase 1 submission stage to a close. Here are a few
samples of various submissions we got.
Giving me flashbacks of World of Warcraft, Warfare map Molten Core has far more
action then the old raiding instance. It's got vehicles, blood and lava
to spare. The map can be a bit intimidating at first, it's pretty damn
large - as you can see from the screenshot below the design is
incredible.
When I first loaded up the Deathmatch map Utopia, my first thought was "Wow, that looks like some sort ruined samurai village." While I never said my thoughts make much sense (After all, do samurai's have villages?), the second thing was "HOLY S*** A DRAGON!" as it proceeded to slaughter me on the ledge. Pictures below, this is definitely one worth checking out.
Last on my list is the Capture the Flag map SkyBound. Not being a fan of heights myself, I find this whole map a bit precarious as it's based around floating islands that somehow are capable of sustaining trees and shrubberies with mini-shrines to boot. Check it out below!
Just a start for lots of great content to come for Make Something Unreal!
