BF1942 - Battle for Pegasus Bridge
This is a medium scale battle for control of Pegasus Bridge and the Gondree Cafe. Control of the bridge is vital for Allied operations. Armor, air and infantry are equally important on this map.
Pegasus Bridge was the location of the first allied airdrops within France on D-Day. Although the bridge was captured and the Gondree Cafe was liberated with little resistance, the next morning a serious battle ensued. Panzer's moved into the area and offered stiff resistance. Control of Pegasus Bridge was essential to the overall allied offensive actions.
The balance of the map is controled by Benouville on one side, and the Gondree Cafe on the other. Whichever team controls these points controls the map. Controling the airport will tip the balance of firepower. There are other way across the canal, but they take longer and are less direct; but can be exploited by skilled players.
