How to install the Custom CS Shell 2002

This is a simple guide to installing the CS Shell 2002 for the Counter – Strike mod.

Unzip the zip file, and find the files “Splash” and “Splash-2” (with out inverted comas – “”) copy them to your shell folder -

D:\SIERRA\Half-Life\cstrike\gfx\shell
For the down load mod – where D is the drive you have Counter Strike installed

D:\SIERRA\counter-strike\cstrike\gfx\shell
For the retail version – where D is the drive you have Counter Strike installed

If you are asked if you want to over write the existing splash.bmp file, click yes.

Included with the zip file is a folder called “Original Splash” copy this folder to the same location, as this is a back up of the Original Splash that came with counter strike.

Q & A

Q – What are the differences between splash and splash-2?

A - Slash is best used on public computers, such as Internet or LAN cafes. While splash-2 dose not have a small credit line on the bottom of the splash screen, and can be used as a replacement.

Q – I don’t want this shell / splash any more, how do I get back my old one?

A - Included with the zip file is a folder called “Original Splash” it is best to copy this folder to the same location as you did the Splash and Splash-2 files, as this is a back up of the Original Splash that came with Counter Strike.
