The Vulcan Portal is a free windows® application that allows you to send and receive 3d voice mail to other users. 3d voice mail, is a bit like email, but instead everyone appears as a real time 3 dimensional head that synthetically talks with perfect lip synch.

You can define how you want to appear by choosing from default models and skins, and can even upload your own personalized skin to the Vulcan Server.

You can define your own speech parameters covering gender, pitch and speed and also use speech manipulation symbols within your own 'text based' mail, to provoke whispering or excitement etc. The result is that your 3d head will speak your mail to the person who receives it, creating an exciting and entertaining method of communication.

The Portal and it's synthetic speech system operates in six languages, including English, French, German, Italian, Spanish and Portuguese. Current features include, access to the growing community centre, where you can upload your own identity (with welcome message) and also view other members identities offering the further ability to download their skins. It also has an address book for storing past communication and an In and Out tray for sending and receiving 3d voice mail.

The Vulcan Portal is like nothing you have ever seen or heard before! It is a robust application which incorporates it’s own unique graphical style, layered with advanced 3d and speech technology. It truly is an application with a brain and all functions and operations are spoken to you via 3d guides.

It's not an online application but does require connection to the Vulcan Server for sending or receiving voice mail, uploading your identity to the community centre, uploading or downloading personalized skins and finally upgrading the Portal application.

One important feature of the Portal is that it has the ability to upgrade itself to new versions (approximately 1 new version per week) and with each new version comes a new feature, such as the ability to download free games and applications that Vulcan Software make available for digital distribution, and daily gaming news spoken by 3d news readers. For the full low down on this incredible new application you can visit it's dedicated website at www.vulcan-portal.co.uk

The Vulcan Portal is free, but does require you to register your name and email address on the main website. Registering allows the automatic creation of your voice mail boxes on the Vulcan Server and provides you with a unique user ID for connection.
