GDI has a new meaning now! I've always wanted to mix a C&C song, well this is my first (but not my last!). Act On Instinct was the first tune that played when you first started the GDI campaign, and it set the sea shore attack very well. And also, the tune, like all of Frank Klepacki's work, is groovy! I didn't really have a set style when I first started mixing the tune, I just had the samples and I let my mind and my initiative take over. I really suprised myself with the final result. There are a few small things in the mix that I think makes it great, I'll let you decide on your own.

The techno drums worked really well with the original tune's drums, which I think is why I let myself sway to the dancey side of things for this one. One thing I'm really happy about in this mix is that I managed to turn a crappy distorted sample into a powerful techno/trance lead. Things worked well for me in this one when I upped the speed of the original tune, the tune was still clear and the guitar sounded more techno-ish, so it worked wonders.
