One of LucasArts' latest great adventure games, it featured two animal police detectives in a humorous bigfoot chase adventure. The soundtrack that backed the game was very smooth/jazzy, making the game seem like the 50's/60's era. The smart yet witty dog and the just plain crazy rabbit made a great comical pair and the game was very absorbing, with a strong storyline and great smooth tunes! Together, Sam & Max called themselves the Freelance Police.

I started writing this mix with just the one tune (Wack-A-Rat) in mind, but soon realized that it could go so much further with a mix of various tunes from the game. The arrangment of the tunes wasn't easy to write either, the LucasArts musicians again showing outstanding musical talent both through speaker and in note sequence. The drumbreak came in naturally, it suited the jazzy bassline and other instruments really well. Although the sax couldn't be as 'real' as I would like it, the synthesized version still has it's advantages, mainly keeping the sound as close as possible to the original. I must say I really enjoyed mixing the drums with the basslines, a new experience for sure, go the jazz! Btw, it's been very educational indeed.
