Being a big RPG fan, Daggerfall was definately something unique when compared to other RPG games around. Unlike others, which were still very good, Daggerfall actually had complete freedom, not just character creation, but everything from the clothes you wore (if any), to being able to buy your own boat or house, and in any town in the Daggerfall lands. The music for this grand game was nothing short of orchestral midi brilliance. My personal favoured tunes are the wondering in the wilderness at night tune and ofcourse, the Daggerfall theme. I chose the name Elven Fable because of the fantasy element involed in the game, also because I liked the elven class weapons and armor. I can only hope that Eric will be the music composer for the next Elder Scrolls chapter.

This theme could have been done so much better if I had a full orchestra to work with. :) Knowing I hadn't, I went through a number of styles before realising that it actually worked a lot better without normal drums, put a selected handful of percussion instruments. I tried some enigma style drums (like in dreamer) and even had fast jungle beats going on at one point, but it wasn't right. The actual orchestration was replaced by 3 different synth strings, a piano and a fantasy bell string. The flute, however, was taken straight out of the midi and passed through a number of effects, mainly reverb and delays.
