Play Info
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Single Player (Botmatch): Yes. Fully pathed and tested until I whimpered.
Deathmatch : Yes. 6 Starts.
Known Problems : It can be a trifle slow in places. My V2 struggles. But I liked the 'feel' of the map and didn't want to start removing things. In addition, bots with nothing better to do may lurk in the main room. THIS IS NOT MY FAULT! In any case, they do it but rarely.
Water runs and trickles everywhere, drumming off floors and staining the ancient carvings dark. It steams as it strikes the still-spinning barrel of your minigun, raising tiny plumes of vapour. You let the warm rain run down your face, listening for the tell-tale splash that might indicate your enemy in the constant background sound of water. Tropical thunder booms and rolls about the temple, as lightning flickers between the thunderheads and lights the sky. You smile wryly... how melodramatic. And apt.
A small temple complex left from the Nali revolution, which saw the desecration of many ancient water temples as the Sons of Velora started the preaching of violence. Her image now covers the idol to the god Chizra, and the the time-worn paths trodden only by priests before now jump and drum to the beat of armoured boot-clad feet. Liandri corp only recently 'aquired' this location, and presently it is used only as a combat arena for the low-teir entrees to the tournament.
Don't expect loads of stuff here. No powerups, no redeemer, no flak cannon... plenty of health, but you'll have to risk life and limb to get it. The wide corridors make the sniper rifle, shock rifle, minigun and pulse gun the staple of this map, but the rocket launcher and ripper are also present. The former is very useful in the central room, the latter is just there as another toy.
It was originally intended as a one-on-one map, but I prefer playing it 4 to 6 player, with 'weapon stay' on. I strongly recommend altering the the bot stats to make them more varied; I play with one sniping coward, one minigun-weilding maniac, one RL-hogging 'normal' bot and one shock-rifle nutcase.
