Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim - Retextured Wolves With Recolored Pelts Mod v1.4
File Info: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim - Retextured Wolves With Recolored Pelts Mod v1.4
Description: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim - Retextured Wolves With Recolored Pelts Mod v1.4This mod makes common black wolves look like timber wolves and ice wolves look like white wolves. The timber wolf skin is the wolfblack.dds and the white wolf skin is the wolf.dds file. To install, drag the "data" folder into your Skyrim/Data folder.
Four skins to choose from: timber, white, black, and light gray. The timber and white are included in the main file. The light gray and darker black are optional downloads. I am working on refining the timber, white and light grey skin. I know the light grey skin needs some minor editing on the jaw/neck area.
If you downloaded my darker black wolf, I accidentally named it wolfblack.dds.dds. I fixed it, but if you got the screwy one, just take off the last dds. It should be wolfblack.dds - sorry!
Version 1.4: Added (darker than default) black wolf with white on the muzzle. Pelt included. Pelt appears dark grey (lighter than the wolf) in inventory, but darker than the wolf if you place the object in the world. When I made it the right color, it looked shiny and tar-like. Sorry, for now you get a dark grey pelt.
Version 1.3: Added a new skin and pelt for ice wolves ("light gray ice wolf").
Version 1.2: Newer timber wolves are slightly darker to reduce their "shininess." The old timber wolf is still available if you prefer the lighter colors.
Version 1.1: Pelts have been retextured.
This mod makes common black wolves look like timber wolves and ice wolves look like white wolves.
The timber wolf skin is wolfblack.dds.The white wolf skin is wolf.dds.
You can delete one or the other if you wish to use only one of the skins. You can also mix and match, make regular wolves "light gray" and ice wolves into "timber" just by renaming files.
I did not alter the red wolf skin.
Known issues: some bandit wolves ("pit wolves") use the white wolf retexture even though they are not in snowy regions. Thanks to Minuvas for bringing this to my attention. In the meantime, you can use the light gray ice wolf skin instead, as it will not seem so out-of-place.
If you experience a problem, leave a comment and I will try my best to help you.
These custom skins are my creations. If you wish to use them or modify them for a mod, please message me first. I am a nice and understanding person. However, I am not so nice if you steal my textures and attempt to claim credit for what isn't yours.
