My first Unreal level....

Inspired by flicking through books on Japan and the great old martial arts game, Budokan (and also inspired by uninspired, crappy ubiquitous sci-fi-cum-fantasy user-levels).

All in all, it came up pretty well, and it's actually fun to play!

No bot support (and don't even try to add it, the level crashed whenever one of them went near a certain doorway!).

The main problem with making the level was trying to avoid the damn holes that the editor would put in the level when it rebuilt and optimized the geometry. This made the whole process of making the level take much longer than it should have (my girlfriend got quite upset at one stage about how much time was going into this thing).

To install the level - in case you haven't figured it out yet - just unzip DmJapan.unr to the unreal/maps directory and japantex.utx to the unreal\textures directory.

The only problem with the level is the speed of it. I got a little carried away with the polygon count. I runs OK for the most part on anything upwards of a P2-266 (3D accelerator highly recommended), but anything less and it may become a bit jerky in some parts.

P.S. I don't know how long it will take you to find but there is a sector on the right of the main courtyard that has a POSITIVE gravity of about 1500 so if you step into it, it will quickly fly you up and onto the roof. It makes for big fun rooftop battles.
