Hammerfight is a 2D physics-based where the player swings large melee weapons and rely on centripetal force to give the object enough kinetic energy to destroy enemies.You play as a member of a tribe called the Gaiars. When your tribe is destroyed you are taken prisoner and turned into a slave. As you are discovered to be the last living human gaiar, then forced to battle in the arena. In a battle a man recognizes you and plot the destruction of the emperor, who ordered to destruction of the Gaiar tribe.
