v1.10 released 21 August 2006

Introduction
------------
Real-Time Server is, as the name suggests, a server for Real-Time clients to connect to. This means that someone running Lamer Productions' Real-Time can connect to your server and have their computer's system clock updated according to your computer's system clock.

Helping Lamer Productions
-------------------------
Obviously, you can run a private Real-Time server if you prefer, but if you run the server regularly (preferably close to 24 hours a day) and you would like to help us (Lamer Productions), then please submit your IP address or hostname to the Real-Time server list on the Lamer Productions website (http://lamerproductions.cjb.net at the time this help file was written).

If you have a static IP then please submit that to the website. However, if you only have a dynamic IP, submitting it to the site would just cause confusion as your IP would not stay the same, so I suggest creating an account at CJB.NET (http://www.cjb.net) and using their Dynamic DNS service, so that you can submit a CJB.NET address to the Lamer Productions website, which will be forwarded to your computer at any time.

How to use Real-Time Server
---------------------------
Everything in the server part of Real-Time is fairly straight-forward - all of controls are quite self-explanatory;

"Launch on Windows start-up" - tick this checkbox to make Real-Time Server launch automatically when Windows starts up.
"Start server on program launch" - tick this to make Real-Time Server start serving as soon as it is launched.
"Minimize program on launch" - tick this to make Real-Time Server automatically minimize itself as soon as it is launched.
"Log connection IPs" - tick this to make Real-Time Server keep logs of the IPs of all incoming connections. They will be saved in the "Logs" folder, inside the main program folder, with filenames based on the current date (in the format "yyyymmdd").

"TCP port" - in this box, enter the TCP port number that you wish your server to run on. It is suggested that you use the default value, 1610.
"Start Server" / "Stop Server" - click this button to start/stop the server manually.

"Daylight Savings Time" - this checkbox should be ticked when your time zone enters daylight savings time, and unticked when your time zone goes back into standard time - this is just so that Real-Time Server calculates UTC time properly (important, as this is the time sent to all Real-Time clients that connect to your server).
"UTC time" - displays the current Universal Time, UTC (or Greenwich Mean Time, GMT) and the date.
"Your time" - displays the current date and time within your time zone.
"Program started at" / "Server started at" / "Server stopped at" - displays the date and time that the last action (program lauch or server start/stop) took place.

"Total number of connections" - the number of connections your server has received by clients, since the program was last launched and since the server was last started.
"Maximum number of simultaneous connections" - the highest number of connections your server has received at any one time, since the program was last launched and since the server was last started.

"Help" - click this button to view this help file at any time.

Tray icon - if Real-Time Server is minimized, double-clicking on the tray icon with the left mouse button will restore the window. Double-clicking on it with the right mouse button will close the program, and just clicking it once with the right mouse button will start or stop the server, without having to restore the window first.

Change log
