File Info: Half-Life 2 - DM_Enzo
Description: Half-Life 2 - DM_Enzo
Enzo was built in the 1960's as a covert compound for launching test rockets during the space race. Its location in a mountainous inlet, makes the station not only hard to reach by water, but hard to see from outside the bay. After the 70's, the station lost its funding by NASA and began to license itself periodically to private aerospace corporations to maintain the facilities, until it was finally decommissioned in 1989.Enzo was designed and built in approximately 3 weeks. It makes use of most of the HL2 arsenal, although more powerful weapons such as the rocket launcher have been left out. It supports 4-8 players.

------- Level Description --------------------------------------
Not a lot of people play Half-Life 2 Deathmatch, and I don't understand why. I was
tired of closed in designs of real world locations, and wanted to build something in
a slightly more exotic location, so I made use of the few old snow and ice materials
(and a couple of my own) and created Enzo, the now defunct clandestine rocket
base used by our government during the space race. The design began literally as
an isometric sketch of the exterior on a piece of paper, and the blocking out the
level geometry into a playable form in the following hours.
I have a lot mapping projects I need to finish, but I didn't want to make this one of
them, so I devoted all of my mapping at the time to this so that eventually it would
see the light, and other people might get to play it for themselves. I detailed the
environment, making thumbnail sketches of each room before construction, and
built Enzo from the interior to exterior, saving finishing touches such as custom
materials for the very last.

------- Credits/Acknowledgements/Thanks --------------------------------------
Spanks to Steve, Bob, Kurt, and Bob's friend for thorough playtests.
Thanks to Lunaran for his approval ;P
------- Easter Eggs/Secrets* --------------------------------------
Extra good stuff in the Furnace room if you look for it.
------- Known Issues --------------------------------------
The water is kind of ugly if you fall off the edge into it. Tried to create an ice field
instead, but results just came out ugly. Figured the water was the lesser of too
evils.
You can land on a rock in the back before you fall into the water, but not a lot of
good that does you ultimately.
------- Textures, Sounds and Models --------------------------------------
Makes most use of HL2 materials and models, and uses a couple models from
Counterstrike: Source.
