Massively Multiplayer Tactical War Game (FPS gameplay), Planetside, has just launched its 12 month free play program a.k.a. Planetside Reserves.
The program will run for 12 months as of March 24th, and anyone can download the client and play for free.
In case anyone is wondering “what the hell is Planetside”…
…well it’s a massively multiplayer game where you join one of three Empires and battle for control of many Continents.
Each continent currently supports up to 133 players from Each Empire (that’s a maximum of 399 players per continent!), and with 10 continents and six caves to choose from, you are always garuanteed a good fight.
Planetside is also a ‘combined arms’ game, meaning you can choose to grunt it out; drive tanks, buggies, ATVs, APCs; fly hoverplanes; take part in large airbourne troop movements via dropships; become a combat engineer and deploy mines and gun turrets; or any mix of these.
All of this set in a persistent environment with character progression.
Each Empire has unique weapons and vehicles that match their backgrounds and require you to use different tactics to win through depending on which Empire you choose to side with.
For old players this is an ideal opportunity to see how the game has progressed both balance and content wise.
