The Gnomeregan Blues is the sad tale of a Gnomish Warlock whose home of Gnomeregan was lost long ago, and his attempt to take back what's his.
Woke up this morning
Was far from my bed
The road to Gnomeregan
Was just up ahead.
I ran to the portal
With my party in tow
Blazing a tunnel
Through the white virgin snow
Gnome by birth and a warlock by trade
And I lost everything to the Troggs and their raid
But now that I’m big, and now that I’m strong,
I’m here to take back what’s been mine all along.
Got a human Priest
To keep us alive
Snow’s up to his waist
And I’m up to his thigh.
Now he had the nerve
T’ask, “the lock still around?”
I tugged on his pantleg
And said, “You gotta look down.”
Gnome by birth and a warlock by trade
And I lost everything to the Troggs and their raid
But now that I’m big, and now that I’m strong,
I’m here to take back what’s been mine all along.
We went into the tunnel
Not the one in the snow
And it wasn’t five minutes
Til’ the Priest had to go.
“Sorry, guys”
Is all that he said.
He figured the pally
Could heal instead.
Gnome by birth and a warlock by trade
And I lost everything to the Troggs and their raid
But now that I’m big, and now that I’m strong,
I’m here to take back what’s been mine all along.
Pally dropped his sword
We’d the Priest to thank
He turned to the rogue
Said, “You ought to tank.”
Now, the rogue was a smart one
He’d brought a shield
Unlike the pally
Who had a staff to wield.
Gnome by birth and a warlock by trade
And I lost everything to the Troggs and their raid
But now that I’m big, and now that I’m strong,
I’m here to take back what’s been mine all along.
I’d quested before,
Through sleet, snow and rain,
But none was more fated
Than the quest for gnogain.
Now, our end was tragic
As you might expect
It’ll be no better
Next time or the next…
I got the blues
Those Gnomeregan blues…
Party…
Incompetent
Quest…
Can’t accomplish it
And maybe…
Just maybe…
I’ll try again.
