If you haven't seen the film ALIEN, then I suggest you don't use this VP because it contains some spoilers. Chances are you've already seen it if you're into game and movie culture, but I just want to make sure. I made my Alien Ash voice for the first UT game a while back, porting it over to UT2K3 and now this game. Didn't bother change starting this one over from scratch because voice packs from UT2003 will work with UT2004; you just need to make an .INT file to reference it for the drop-down menu. This VP Alien Ash to differentiate it from the many other "Ash" voice packs for UT, the ones pertaiing to Bruce Campbell's character in the Evil Dead/Army of Darkness movies. That said, this is a voice pack of the science officer aboard the commercial starship Nostromo, played by actor Ian Holm. This is not a complete voice pack; the default Merc Male voice is used in the areas in which this voice pack does not cover. All sounds are 8-bit, 22KHz mono .WAV files recorded from the DVD, but the recordings aren't as clear as I'd hoped they'd be. If I used the TruSurroundXT CODEC then perhaps it'd sound better. Ah, this isn't my best VP; I think I'll record some more quotes from Sir Ian Holm's other movies and make a new voice pack. I've also included some Aliens vs. Predator related game add-ons in the Links section of this Read Me.
