I. MINIMUM SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS

Pentium III 500mhz processor
Windows 98/2000/ME/XP
64mb RAM
DirectX 8.1 compatible Graphics Card with 16mb memory
DirectX 8.1 compatible Sound Card
DirectX 8.1 compatible mouse and keyboard
500 MB free Hard Disk space

II. INSTALLATION

TOUGH TRUCKS
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

AUTORUN:
1. Turn the computer on and start Windows 98/ME/2000/XP. Please close any other programs you have running.
2. Place the Tough Trucks: Modified Monsters CD in the CD-ROM drive and wait 10 seconds. Launcher menu appears with [Install] -option. Click on it to install the game.
3. Follow the on-screen instructions.

NOTE: If the Autorun feature is disabled or does not work properly, please follow one of the manual installation methods below.

MANUAL INSTALLATION METHOD ONE:
1. Turn the computer on and start Windows 98/ME/2000/XP. Please close any other programs you have running.
2. Place the Tough Trucks: Modified Monsters CD in the CD-ROM drive.
3. Click [Start] and then click on [Run].
4. Type the letter of your CD-ROM drive (usually “D”) followed by a colon (:) and the word “launcher”. Then click the [OK] button. (Example: “D:LAUNCHER”)
5. The launcher screen should appear. Follow the on-screen instructions.

MANUAL INSTALLATION METHOD TWO:
1. Turn the computer on and start Windows 98/ME/2000/XP. Please close any other programs you have running.
2. Place the Tough Trucks: Modified Monsters CD in the CD-ROM drive.
3. Double-click on the [My Computer] icon from your desktop.
4. Double-click on the CD-ROM icon labeled [Tough_Trucks].
5. Double-click on the [Launcher] icon.
6. The launcher screen should appear. Follow the on-screen instructions.

DirectX 8.1 installation:

If you have DirectX 8.0 or older version, you need to install DirectX 8.1 by clicking [DirectX 8.1] button on the launcher menu.

GETTING STARTED AFTER INSTALLATION:

AUTORUN:
1. Place the Tough Trucks: Modified Monsters CD in the CD-ROM drive.
2. Click [Play] to start the game.

MANUAL PLAY:
1. Place the Tough Trucks: Modified Monsters CD in the CD-ROM drive.
2. Click on [Start] and then select [Programs].
3. Select Activision Value, Tough Trucks, Tough Trucks to start the game.

III. GAME OVERVIEW

Tough Trucks Overview:

Get behind the wheel of your stock pick-up truck and enter the ranks of the amateur monster-truck racing league, testing your skills against the same obstacles and hazards that the real monster trucks face in a knock-down, drag out race for the gold cup. As you emerge victorious race after race on the various obstacle ridden dirt tracks, you’ll earn money and prizes to repair and upgrade your vehicle to match the growing level of competition for bigger prizes and unique parts, eventually converting your stock pick-up into a mini-monster truck that can match the skills and performance of its big brothers.

OFFICE (MAIN MENU)
Computer – Selecting the computer allows you to change game sttings.

Garage Door – Selecting the garage door moves you into the garage, where you can start a race or paint, decal, and modify your tough truck.

File Cabinet - Selecting the file cabinet opens the Save/Load menu, where you can save your game or load a previously saved game.

Exit – Selecting the exit door leaves the game.

Truck Shop
After creating a new game, you will be brought to the Truck Shop. Here you can purchase a new truck. Select the on-screen arrow keys to cycle through the available trucks and select the $ button to purchase your new truck.

GARAGE
Calendar – Select the Calendar to select which track you will race next.
Garage Door – Starts the next race.
Compressor – Opens the paint and decal tools.
Tool Box – Select the tool box to repair and upgrade your tough truck.

IV. CONTROLS

Basic Gameplay Controls:

Left/Right arrow keys – Steer left/right
Up/Down arrow keys – Forward (gas) and Brake (reverse)
Spacebar – Hand brake
R – Reset truck
ESC – Pause gameplay
Enter – Start race
C - Toggle camera positions
