D E S C R I P T I O N

The map is basically a medium sized castle that is built on a small hill (made using the Terrain tool in UnrealEd 3.0), it's set in daylight, so if you find it's a little to bright for you, or too dark, you can change the gamma setting in 'Settings' from the main menu of UT 2003.

This is the second outdoor map that I have created, the first being the map mentioned above (see other works by Author), and looks not too bad considering it's built using BSP brushes rather than meshes. Meshes would have brought the file size down a bit, too, but i haven't got a mesh editor and so it would take far too long to do, besides, it's plays Ok on my old Athlon 1200 MHz processor, so there's no problem really. As for how it looks, well, it's good, but it probably won't win any awards!! It plays Ok with more than 5 bots; don't add more than 12 bots because i think that's nearing the limit on teh number of player starts.

Features to look out for:

- Sniper Tower (i always like them, this one is not too bad too, but watch out as the bots can still get you)

- Redeemer hidden outside the castle; if you fancy a walk around the outside, feel free, and you may spot the redeemer. It may seem a bit long to walk, but i decided that needed to be the penalty for picking up such a powerful weapon.

- Two Rocket launchers

To install the map put the following files in the following folders:-

From your UT 2003 Folder:

- TheCastleFortress04.utx --> Textures

- DM-CastleFortress.ut2 --> System

Please don't overwrite any body elses map if it happens to have the same name, if this occurs, just rename the .ut2 map file to whatever you want.
