The Homeworld2 EX mod started as a compilation mod from some of the released works on the relicnews forums. But that's not what it is today.Only every single thing! Everything has been balanced.. only like 2 or 3 units in the original have been edited, the Capture frigs do EMP damage, NOT in a large radius anymore. The Minelayers are in squads of 3. :) Most build able ships have build able turret options. The Vaygr Frig's puny little top missile launcher that was useless... now is "not useless". Hull defense guns Fire every 0.2 Seconds and do Damage=3
The progenitors have been completely rebalanced... all the new ships have been balanced into the game better.
Players now start with Original starting units (less the higgys, they get a little extra Probe/docking spot)
All new user interface graphics! (and a little bonus to lobby music)
