It will not install on WinNT or Win2000. It will install and run just fine on Windows XP - IF - You set the compatability mode Tab on the program properties, looking at windows explorer, to WIN 95 comatability. If you do NOT do this BEFORE you attempt to install, The game isbtaller will say "this game will not Run on Windows NT, and quit. end of install. This is Microsoftt's seemingly forgotten Baseball 3D game, It has very good graphics, this was the first time Microsofts 3D graphics Engine we all saw & liked, in MSBB 2000 & 2001. its called Microsoft Baseball 3D Trial 1998 Version. It has fresh 1998 rosters, although it plays a fixed single game...its a real blast to watch, though!
Although this game was copyrighted, and this Trial released in very early 1998, It is not dated or outdated...=Hardball 4 demo was a 1994 demo...that WAS outdated, and dangerous to NTFS formatted OS's.
due to the type of DOS used [hardball 4 was a win 3.11 game..one should NEVER run any Windows 3.1 game on an NTFS formatted OS.] Even the Compatability mode, which lets you, on Win XP, run older apps and games, has Windows 95 as its earliest setting, there was a very good reason Microsoft did NOT go back one more version to Win 3.1...games of that era can exact a price just for running, or trying to run, by making you reformat and reinstall everything, so lets all be honest about what runs on what...and have fun, instead of the dreaded re-install blues. Wow, I do Love Basebal so much, I could not keep this to myself though :-)
